No, we provide home health care services to the entire age spectrum – from newborn babies to seniors. Anyone living in Alberta with a valid provincial health care card can receive Home Care services as long as their health care needs can be safely met in the home. Consistent access criteria have been developed provincially for Supportive Living and Long Term Care and serve as general guidelines. There are fees for prenatal / postnatal classes and travel health services. Genetic outreach centres, located in Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Red Deer, have genetic counsellors available to see patients and families closer to home. In cases where a geneticist MD is required, a geneticist from Calgary travels monthly to all sites to provide medical genetic consultations. Caregiver consistency is essential to building strong relationships, and delivering on our philosophy of Happier Aging®. All Nurse Next Door Caregivers are carefully screened with criminal background checks and vulnerable sector checks. We confirm our Caregivers' educational credentials and verify upon hire and annually, that every nurse is registered and in good standing with their respective College of Nurses. If you hire a caregiver privately, you will need to perform background checks and screening yourself.
